Experience what it was like in the Anglo-Boer War as you explore the trenches and lookout stations of the tough old Boer soldiers, or just appreciate the beauty of the Magaliesberg. The imposing krantzes are not just home to the Cape Vulture and the Black Eagle, but also the dwellings of long forgotten tribes. And it's all reached on a network of well planned trails.

Trail Descriptions

Kruinroute

This is the longest circle and takes the trail through open grasslands,  suikerbos veld, thickly vegetated kloofs and Boekenhout veld to the " Tweeboomnekkie " at the crown of the mountain where you will be rewarded the breathtaking views, Boer war trenches and the ever present vultures, effortlessly gliding the thermals past you. From here the trail follows the crown of the range until you pass down through the " Klipmuurnek ". The trail descends quickly through fern covered slopes,  suikerbos veld and kloofs until you once again reach the basecamp.

Responsible, decent human behaviour is expected. Respect for the fauna & flora, no breaking of bush, plants or removal of items from the routes. No dogs allowed.
